Proclear Multifocals are a monthly disposable contact lenses to correct presbyopia by leading manufacturer CooperVision.
If you`re in your 40s, you may have found reading has become more difficult. If so, you`re likely experiencing a common vision condition called presbyopia, a natural part of your eyes` aging process. Fortunately, bifocal or varifocal spectacles are not the only option for clear vision. Now you can enjoy optimum vision quality at every
distance and the freedom of soft contact lenses, with Proclear® Multifocal lenses from CooperVision.
Proclear® Multifocal contact lenses offer a new level of clear, crisp vision quality thanks to revolutionary Balanced Progressive Technology, a unique system utilizing two different lenses that work together to provide clear vision whether you`re looking near, far or anywhere in between. Whether you are reading a menu in dim light, texting, or using your PC, you will be able to focus without the need for reading glasses.
This lens uses the tried and trusted Proclear® PC Technology™ material which is uniquely engineered to provide a higher level of comfort, over a longer period of time, than any other contact lens. By utilising a unique material called Phosphorylcholine, which attracts and holds water molecules, Proclear® retains three times more water than other hydrogel contact lenses, and the more water is retained, the more hydrated and comfortable the contact lenses remain.
CooperVision’s PC Technology™ - phosphorylcholine (PC) - binds with water molecules in natural tears to create a “shield” of water around the contact lens.
Proclear Compatibles mimic your natural eye cells and help reduce the effects of your eyes drying out due to excessive screen time, air conditioning and other environments known to increase dry and irritable eyes, by locking in moisture to keep your eyes hydrated throughout the day.
No. Although it is not uncommon for people to confuse Mutifocal contact lenses and Toric contact lenses, but they are not the same, they have each been designed to correct a specific eye condition.
Multifocal contact lenses have been designed to correct presbyopia so contains multiple prescription powers to correct vision in the distance, close to and intermediate, so they can replace the need for reading glasses.
Toric contact lenses have been designed to correct astigmatism and as such they have a single power and have been shaped to create different focusing powers on both the horizontal and vertical orientations. A toric contact lens also has a thicker, or weighted bottom section to stabilise the lens when you blink.
Both multifocal and toric contact lenses are available as daily disposable and monthly disposable and either as a regular hydrogel or Silicone hydrogel contact lens.
Over one billion people worldwide have a vision condition called presbyopia. Often beginning around the age of 40, it can begin to affect the quality of life – from difficultly focusing on near objects, such as a menu or mobile phone, to challenges seeing in low or dim light, and the use of reading glasses making someone feel old before their time.
Multifocal contact lenses are designed for those people who have presbyopia.
If you are aging and you are finding it difficult to focus on close up tasks, or finding it harder to read in dim light then your Optometrist will suggest reading glasses.
Reading glasses may not appeal to you, so whether or not you already wear glasses or contact lenses, multifocal contact lenses give you the option to experience clear vision — near, intermediate, and distant, in dim and bright light — so you can continue to do the things you love without the use of reading glasses.
You will need a contact lens fitting and prescription from your Optometrist for multifocal contact lenses.

I work at a computer most of the day and read a lot of paperwork. I also drive so both near and far vision is vitally important for me.
I have tried daily disposables but the compromise they offered just seemed too much to cope with. Proclear lenses offer clear vision for both close work and distance vision and they are comfortable to wear.
The only downside so far (and I've worn them for two months) is that the distance vision seems to be slightly compromised after a couple of weeks as the lenses seem not as moist as first use and tend to stick to your eyes a bit. Just a bit, though. I can only ask that the weekly version be offered for sale. This would allow more frequent changes and that final problem would be solved.
